Video to GIF Converter can help you transform your video files into animated images (GIF), which allows you to use them as web content. Many popular video formats are supported as input: AVI, MPEG, MOV, QT, DV, MKV, WMV, RM and RMVB.
The program allows you to browse for frames through the video timelines; unfortunately, timelines cannot be zoomed in or out, which makes it difficult to work with large files. It is too bad the application does not support batch conversion either, because you are forced to convert your files one by one even if you don't need to do any trimming or editing.
Unfortunately, trimming is the only editing function that is evident to the user, because the rest are somewhat hidden as settings. When you get to them, you'll discover that the program also allows you to crop, resize, and flip the picture; also, you can add text to the original image. Moreover, you are allowed to change the playback speed and set the number of frames to skip, which will greatly reduce the output file’s size. Two color effects, namely, grayscale and sepia, can be applied as well.
In general, Video to GIF Converter does its job well. Besides converting video to GIF fast and accurately, it also lets you perform some basic editing. However, there are some parts of the interface layout that may need redesigning.
